The North Myrtle Beach City Council unanimously approved the first of three required readings to create two new zoning districts on Monday, Oct. 20.
If enacted, the new districts will be Conservation Residential District (CR) and Estate Residential District (R-1E).
According to city documents, the CR district would require a mix of residential lot sizes, including a minimum proportion of homes on larger half-acre parcels, alongside smaller-lot single-family, duplex, townhouse and multiplex options.
