18-year-old dies after truck crashes, catches fire on Highway 50 in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — An 18-year-old man died after a truck crashed and caught on fire early Sunday morning in Sacramento, authorities said.

Around 2 a.m., the man was driving a Toyota truck east on Highway 50, west of Mayhew Road, when he veered onto the right-hand shoulder and collided with a changeable message sign, the California Highway Patrol said.
