The hidden risks of radon: MDH expert explains the danger

(ABC 6 News) — For non-smokers, it’s the leading cause of lung cancer. Additionally, it’s the second leading cause of lung cancer for those who smoke. In fact, roughly 21,000 people will die from the disease in the United States because of radon exposure.

In Minnesota, two of every five homes have elevated levels of radon. In Iowa, the number of homes with elevated radon are the highest in the nation and six times the national average.
