No charges will be filed against former Plainfield Fire Protection District Fire Chief Jon Stratton, who was accused of misusing district funds.
The district revealed Monday that in 2023, fire district trustees discovered Stratton had allegedly deposited proceeds from the sale of donated vehicles into a personal account. When confronted by trustees, Stratton reportedly wrote a check to the district for about $31,350, which was then turned over to police. Stratton later resigned.
