Wisconsin sheriff ties deceased Springfield-area man to woman’s death in 2006

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (KY3/WSAW) — Wisconsin authorities named a deceased Springfield-area man as the person responsible for killing a woman in 2006, closing a cold case investigation.

Wood County District Attorney Jonathan Barnett concluded the investigation and identified Christopher Revak as the man responsible for the death of Diedre Harm. The Wood County Sheriff’s Department and Wisconsin Rapids Police Department announced the findings on Monday.

Connection to Missouri cases

Douglas County authorities arrested Revak in 2009 for the death of Rene Williams, a 36-year-old bartender at the Eagles Lodge in Ava. Williams disappeared in 2007. Revak died by suicide in the Douglas County Jail one day after his arrest.

Families seek closure

The Wood County Sheriff’s Office acknowledged the impact on Harm’s family in a statement on Monday.

“This may provide some closure for many, but it won’t bring Deidre back,” the sheriff’s office said. “Our thoughts and prayers will always be with Deidre’s family.”…
