SEATTLE, WASHINGTON — A Washington woman’s fiery TikTok rant is gaining attention after she accused doctors of using the outdated Body Mass Index (BMI) system to judge women’s health unfairly, claiming it was designed by insurance companies — not medical experts.
The woman, who goes by @Hannahs_version (Hannah) on TikTok, said she recently went to a doctor’s appointment expecting to discuss her health concerns, but instead was lectured about her weight and labeled “obese.”
“BMI is an outdated way to measure health,” Hannah said. “It was created by insurance companies, not doctors.”
