Family of mother killed in crash demands tougher penalties for repeat DUI offenders in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — An impaired driver who killed a pregnant woman, learned his fate Monday. After a mistrial in May, a jury found Christopher Walker guilty on all charges.

On Monday, a judge sentenced him to eight to 40 years in prison.

In 2024, 21-year-old Suzie Chapel was a passenger in a BMW stopped on the side of I-15 North. Chapel and her boyfriend, Isaiah Armstrong, were waiting for roadside assistance when Christopher Lee Walker hit their car.

Monday, Walker was seen in handcuffs, facing families of those affected. Chapel’s Mom, Laura, as well as her sons Adam and Sam, all said they don’t feel the punishment fits the crime.

“I feel for a repeat offender and the wreckage that he caused our family, and others, that his sentence should have been harsher,” Laura Chapel said…
