Woman from Venezuela caught skip-scanning at local Walmart

A suspected shoplifter will have to answer in court after allegedly skip-scanning $43 in merchandise at Walmart.

A deputy responded to Walmart, located at 550 U.S. Hwy. 27, Clermont, for a theft involving 40-year-old Crisol Pina Gil of Kissimmee at 2:50 p.m. Oct. 15, according to a case report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

An asset protection associate advised that the store’s surveillance system caught Pina Gil skip-scanning merchandise. She then tried to leave with the unpaid items but the associate confronted her, the report said…
