‘We didn’t have a lot to go on’: Marshall County Sheriff outlines timeline in portable toilet case

STATE CENTER, Iowa — Marshall County Sheriff Joel Philips says his team identified the man accused of placing a camera inside a portable toilet at a cross country meet, despite starting the investigation with almost no leads.

Tyler Pavlick, 32, of Des Moines, is accused of attempting to install the device at Lincoln Valley Golf Course near State Center in late September, and he now faces dozens of charges.

“We didn’t have a lot to go on in the beginning, but our investigators worked diligently to attempt to locate this individual,” Philips said…
