El Paso And Back To The Future Are Connected!!

Every October 21st, fans around the world celebrate Back to the Future Day, honoring the iconic movie trilogy that gave us flying cars, hoverboards, and one unforgettable DeLorean. But here in El Paso, we’ve got our own reason to celebrate because one of Marty McFly’s stunt doubles came straight from our city. I first read this story on CBS4!

From the Lower Valley to Hollywood

Will Cascio, born and raised right here in El Paso, once found himself standing in for Michael J. Fox during the making of Back to the Future Part II. What started as a career riding horses as a jockey in Southern California turned into something extraordinary. Cascio’s time in the saddle helped him transition into the stunt world, where balance, speed, and fearlessness were essential.

His skills landed him on one of the most beloved movie sets in history. “I got dragged into Back to the Future 2 to cover for what Michael J. Fox couldn’t handle,” Cascio once said in a local interview. “I wound up on the back of the movie doing some hoverboard stuff. It was surreal! I worked on the courthouse scene.”

Cascio’s family still calls the Lower Valley home, where his father trains horses at Sunland Park Racetrack. And though Hollywood may have called for a time, Cascio never forgot his roots. He spoke fondly of the experience and of working alongside Michael J. Fox. “He’s such a great guy,” he said…
