Neenah bids farewell to custom leather shop as owner retires after 40-year career

NEENAH (WLUK) — The Tailored Hide Custom Leather & Repair is closing after nearly 40 years in business.

“Right now, I’m in the final process of finishing a deerskin vest that we are making,” said Leeann Wasinger, the owner of the store. “Lining is in. Just doing the final top stitching. There’ll be snaps on the front, and then it’ll be ready to go out the door.”

For nearly 40 years, Wasinger has been crafting and selling leather goods in Neenah. The vest she finished Tuesday is one of the final hand-crafted pieces she’ll make in her long career…
