A Wichita man responsible for a hit-and-run collision that killed a bicycle rider last year was sentenced Tuesday to 19 months in prison, plus six months in jail, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
Christopher Ryan Edward Johnson, 24, pleaded no contest on Sept. 2 to leaving the scene of an accident and driving under the influence in connection with the Aug. 18, 2024, death of 43-year-old Thomas Doyle of Wichita, court records show.
Doyle was killed when an SUV hit him from behind as he was riding an electric bicycle around 2:09 a.m. in the 2400 block of North Hoover.
