ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – For the past month, Tayy Drake, a 27-year-old mother in Anchorage, has struggled to put food on the table for her two sons.
“We can get basic things like eggs, milk, bread, but it’s not enough to subside on for the entire month with two children,” she told Alaska’s News Source on Tuesday.
Drake and her husband receive SNAP benefits, but she says hers haven’t been processed this month. With benefits set to dry up in November because of the government shutdown, it means another month of uncertainty…
