A beloved Virginia physical education teacher died last week after suffering a cardiac event while hiking along a popular trail in Maryland.
Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) confirmed the passing of Todd Funkhouser, 53, who taught at Sugarland Elementary School in Sterling, Virginia.
“Todd was a cherished member of the LCPS family, having taught in various schools for the last 30 years,” LCPS spokesperson Dan Adams said in a statement. “He was a beloved member of Sugarland Elementary School where he was the Physical Education teacher. We share in his family’s grief and are supporting them as they navigate this difficult time.”…
