GoCary will introduce service changes starting November 1, 2025. The public transit provider plans to add two new routes, Route 2 and Route 9, to improve connections between Cary, Apex, and Raleigh. Route 2 will connect downtown Cary with NC State University and the State Fairgrounds. Route 9 will replace the Apex-Cary Express and operate as a local route with 34 stops between downtown Cary and downtown Apex.
GoCary will also make adjustments to existing routes. Route 1 will add stops along Crossroads Boulevard and Jones Franklin Road, but some inbound stops will be removed. Route 4 will change its path and will no longer enter the Maynard Crossing Shopping Center.
The changes include upgrades to accessibility and safety. All new and improved stops on Routes 1, 2, and 9 will meet ADA standards and have lighting where possible. Thirty-eight existing stops will get new concrete boarding pads. A new crosswalk with pedestrian signals will be built at Walnut Street and Donaldson Drive…
