DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Rainbows are a visual phenomenon made by light reflecting through raindrops like a prism, according to Rainbow Symphony.
Double rainbows are an uncommon phenomenon, made after a secondary refraction within the raindrop. This is why the colors are reversed and lighter. These secondary rainbows go in order of violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red (VIBGYOR).
