Hamilton, OH — A traffic stop in Hamilton led to the seizure of illegal drugs, a firearm, and cash, with help from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit.
Deputy Brown and K9 Kilo assisted the Hamilton Police Department with a free-air sniff during the stop. The search resulted in the recovery of a loaded .380 handgun, 85.4 grams of methamphetamine, 12.9 grams of crack cocaine, 2.9 grams of fentanyl, and $1,409 in cash.
The driver, Gary Rumph, 32, was arrested at the scene. He is currently on parole for prior drug and weapons offenses.
Rumph now faces the following charges:
- Trafficking in Methamphetamine (F2)
- Possession of Methamphetamine (F2)
- Trafficking in Crack Cocaine (F3)
- Possession of Crack Cocaine (F3)
- Trafficking in Fentanyl (F4)
- Possession of Fentanyl (F4)
- Permitting Drug Abuse (F5)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – 2 Counts (M4)
- Improper Handling of a Firearm (F4)
- Carrying Concealed Weapon (M1 and F4)
- Weapons Under Disability (F3)
