One person arrested after nearly 70 dogs removed from home in Michigan

MICHIGAN — A Michigan homeowner may face felony animal abuse and torture charges after deputies discovered dozens of animals living in hazardous conditions, including a dead dog in the yard, according to Calhoun County authorities.

The investigation began Tuesday when deputies responded to a home on 8½ Mile Road following reports of possible animal neglect.

With the homeowner’s permission, deputies searched the property and found unsanitary and dangerous conditions, including a strong urine odor and animal waste. Numerous cats and dogs were in poor health, and a dead dog was found in the backyard…
