Daphne man killed by falling power pole

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A Daphne man has died from injuries received when a power pole fell on him earlier this month, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

On Thursday, Oct. 9, at about 4:55 p.m., a 34-year-old Daphne man was driving a John Deere farm tractor on Baldwin County 54, about 2 miles east of Daphne, according to an ALEA news release.

The tractor’s attachment reportedly hit an overhead power line, which caused the attached pole to come down.

At the same time, 74-year-old James Ronald Davis of Daphne was standing in a private driveway and was hit by the falling pole. He was critically injured and was taken to a hospital for treatment…
