Dane County supervisors face strong opposition to budget cuts

Dane County residents came to yesterday’s board of supervisors meeting with strong distaste for the 4 percent cuts proposed in the executive budget for 2026. Nonprofit organizations like Journey Mental Health Center, from which the county purchases services, were asked to complete their budgets integrating this 4 percent cut.

Dozens joined yesterday’s meeting to voice their opposition to the cut, warning supervisors that the stripping of purchase of service partnerships would restrict nonprofits’ ability to provide critical resources across the county.
