SPRINGFIELD, MO – Progress is being made on a project spanning Interstate 44 on the west side of the city.
Contractors are in the middle of a 140-day construction project to build a replacement span for Melville Road over the freeway. Work began in July with the demolition of the former 1960s-era structure on the site.
Fast forward a few months, and drivers are noticing headway being made. In recent weeks, large cranes have lifted new girders into place. Crews are now working on completing the deck of the span…
