‘My children are terrified’: Shots fired into Akron homes; bullet ends up in baby crib

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – Residents on Seiberling Avenue in Akron were settling in for the night when their homes became targets in a crossfire of as many as 100 rounds fired from the street.

Police said at least three homes were known to have been hit, including the home where Josh Mertz was sitting on his couch when bullets started coming through the walls of the family room.

“I just sent the kid up to his room, luckily enough, and that’s when I heard all the gunfire outside,” he said…
