Grocery chain Winn-Dixie is taking a step toward reimagining itself and reassessing its priorities. Southeastern Grocers — the parent company of Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket — announced on Monday that it will rebrand as The Winn-Dixie Company in early 2026, according to a press release.
The Winn-Dixie rebrand follows a major restructuring a year earlier, after CEO Anthony Hucker and a group of private investors bought the company back from Aldi U.S., which had acquired it in 2024.
The Jacksonville-based grocer also announced a renewed focus on Florida — where it has been rooted since 1925 — and plans to scale back nationwide.
“For a century, Winn-Dixie has proudly called Florida home,” said Anthony Hucker, Chairman and CEO. “As we enter our next century as The Winn-Dixie Company – a brand-new 100-year-old company – we are accelerating growth where our roots run deepest while staying true to our purpose of feeding and enriching the communities that have supported us for generations.”
The company confirmed it will sell or close 32 Winn-Dixie stores and eight Harveys Supermarkets in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
