NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Jessamine County Emergency Management Director is responding after no sirens sounded before a tornado touched down on Sunday.
According to the NWS, the tornado was on the ground around 12:05 p.m. on Oct. 19 in Nicholasville for one minute and had a maximum width of 20 yards.

On Tuesday, Jessamine County Emergency Management Director Johnny Adams released a statement on Facebook about the lack of sirens during or before the storm.
“So the answer to many of your questions about why the sirens didn’t sound, the answer in this case is simple. No warnings, no watches, not even an indication that anything other than gusty winds were possible. This cold front line only indicated a wind advisory,” Adams wrote…
