ELBERTA, Ala. (WALA) – A dangerous intersection in Baldwin County will soon be much safer thanks to an investment of $2.5 million. U.S. Hwy. 98 and County Road 91 has seen many accidents over the last several years and now, signal lights and new turn lanes are on the way.
“It seems that everybody that sees this caution light actually speeds up,” said Len Love. “I don’t know. So, anything that will end these bad wrecks at this intersection, I’m for it.”
Love owns Perdido Beach Trading Company on the northwest corner of US 98 and County Road 91. The store has been there since the turn of the 20th century and Love is just the third owner. With the county’s growth, Love has seen more traffic volume and the accidents that come with it.
