This month, we’re thrilled to spotlight a local mom who’s building community and fun through creativity and entrepreneurship — meet the inspiring mom behind Tumble in Tracy! Her passion for creating a safe, imaginative space for kids (and connection for parents!) shines through everything she does.
Tell us a little about yourself and your family.
My family and I are from the Bay Area. I grew up in the East Bay, and my husband, daughter, and I moved to Tracy a little over 2 years ago. My husband and I have been married for 7 years and have a 6-year-old daughter named Nayeli. We also have 2 fur babies — a cat named Raja and a dog named Butters.
What inspired you to start your business (or get into your field)?
I have been wanting to own a business for about 5 years now. Watching my grandfather be a successful entrepreneur really motivated me. I had the idea for tumble classes when we lived in Castro Valley. My daughter took gymnastics classes and there was nowhere nearby, and it was always a drive.
When we moved to Tracy, I noticed the weather was often either too hot or too cold. I noticed that in Tracy, if you want to take your kids to play indoors, there were no options unless you drove more than 15 minutes. I decided to create something where children can have fun and use their imagination — somewhere that moms and parents can meet each other and build friendships. That’s what I want Tumble to be: a safe and enjoyable space for parents and children.
What does a typical day look like for you as a mom and business owner?
My days are pretty busy — I run the business during the day and then go into mom mode after. I pick up my daughter from school and make sure she stays busy. We have our daughter in soccer, jujitsu, and Girl Scouts. She loves to stay busy, and a relaxing day at home is never fun for her. She is always wanting to be out and about.
What has been the most rewarding part of running your business?
The most rewarding part about my business is honestly seeing children love Tumble. Some parents even tell me that their children only know a few words, and Tumble is one of them — which is so amazing! We also host Mom Socials, which moms enjoy! The most rewarding part is definitely the community and everyone enjoying this space that I created.
