Three Wilmington Residents Arrested in Connection With Attempted Vehicle Thefts

NEW CASTLE, DE — Police have arrested three Wilmington residents, including a juvenile, in connection with a series of alleged attempted vehicle thefts in New Castle early Monday morning.

According to the New Castle County Division of Police, officers were patrolling near New Castle Avenue and Ryan Avenue around 4:30 a.m. on October 20, 2025, when they discovered two Kia vehicles with broken windows and damaged steering columns. While checking nearby neighborhoods, officers encountered three individuals walking down the middle of the road and stopped to investigate.

The suspects were identified as 19-year-old Ahjir Black, 18-year-old Ahmaj Boyd, and a 17-year-old male, all from Wilmington. Police determined that the three already had active no-contact orders with one another stemming from a previous arrest and were also wanted on multiple capiases.
