Man pleads not guilty in Appleton fatal overdose case, trial set for December

APPLETON (WLUK) – Eric Abresch pleaded not guilty Wednesday to allegedly supplying the drugs used in a fatal overdose.

He is charged with first-degree reckless homicide in connection with an August, 2022, overdose at an Appleton home. A December trial is anticipated but a final date was not finalized.

Julius Elmer, who allegedly provided the drugs to Abresch, is also charged. Elmer is scheduled to stand trial March 2, also on a reckless homicide charge.

In August 2022, police were called to investigate the death of a 42-year-old Appleton resident in the 500 block of E. Winnebago Street. The victim’s name has not been released…
