WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Gov. Laura Kelly announced nine new highway projects in Kansas, at a cost of over $442 million, on Wednesday.
The projects are part of the Eisenhower Legacy Transportation Program (IKE), a 10-year initiative that Kelly said is aimed at modernizing and expanding the state’s infrastructure.
The announcement took place in Lindsborg, where the reconstruction of K-4 and Bethany Drive was revealed as one of the selected projects. The project aims to create a more functional and welcoming entrance into the city from Interstate 135. It will remove an aging bridge, eliminating the long-term need for maintenance.
