SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Greene County Planning Board has approved adding a section to its Non-Discriminatory Zoning regulations during its Tuesday night meeting on October 21.
A draft of the change obtained by Ozarks First, states, “Greene County adopts this provision to ensure that its zoning and land use policies support equal housing opportunity for all residents, consistent with the Missouri Human Rights Act (RSMo. § 213.010, et seq.), the Federal Fair Housing Act (42 U.S.C. § 3601, et seq.), and the principles of inclusive, nondiscriminatory land use planning. Greene County recognizes that zoning regulations have the potential to impact access to housing and community resources and seeks to prevent both intentional and unintentional discrimination in land use decisions.”
