Child mauled in vicious dog attack, saves little sister

Candyann and Christopher Avery, who own Infinite 8 Asphalt Paving Company, live in Crawford with their children. On the night of Oct. 12, a Sunday, the family noticed two large pit bull dogs in their backyard, one brown and the other white. Candyann posted to the neighborhood Facebook page, asking for the unknown owners to pick up their dogs. The owners didn’t come forward.

“These dogs didn’t look like strays,” Candyann said about the pit bulls. “They didn’t have collars, but they were very well fed … They definitely belonged to somebody.”

Early the next morning, both Candyann and Chris checked for the dogs and didn’t see them. Candyann was vacuuming their bedroom, and neither she nor Chris heard their nine-year-old daughter, Boston, leave the house to check the mailbox for a delivery…
