More than half a million Kentuckians could lose their SNAP benefits at the end of October

(WKYT) – People who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, might not see a deposit on their benefits card come November.

Governor Andy Beshear announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has not authorized SNAP funding for November due to the federal government shutdown, which started in early October.

Beshear said he was also issued a letter from the Trump administration, ordering state leaders not to use their own funds to pay out SNAP vendors.

More than 600,000 Kentuckians are registered to receive SNAP benefits…
