State Police searching for missing 16-year-old girl from Oneida County: Police are asking for the public’s help to find a missing teen girl from Oneida County. Paige E. Roberts, 16, of Marcy, was last seen around 5 p.m. Tuesday when she left her home, according to Trooper Jennifer Jiron, a spokesperson for New York State Police. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact State Police.

Federal shutdown delays heating aid that helps 52,000 households in CNY: The federal government shutdown has forced New York state to delay the opening of a program that helps low- and moderate-income residents pay their heating bills each winter. The application period for the federally funded Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) was due to begin Nov. 3 in the National Grid service area in Upstate New York. The state received more than $360 million last year for the federal heating aid program. Now, that aid is in jeopardy.
