Monroe police investigating ‘suspicious’ fire

MONROE, Michigan — Monroe police are investigating a suspicious fire that engulfed a vehicle and damaged surrounding structures late Wednesday night.

According to a press release from the Monroe Public Safety Department, officers responded to the 900 block of East Fourth Street after receiving reports of a fire. The officers found a vehicle parked behind a residence. The vehicle was completely engulfed in flames, police said.

Firefighters extinguished the fire, and it was determined no one was injured in the incident, according to the press release…
