Former Nike Shoe And Fashion Designer Speaks In Newton Tonight

A man from Marion, Iowa that designed shoes and apparel for Nike will be speaking in Newton tonight. Colin Behr has moved back to Iowa and launched his own magazine called “Wardrobe Theory Project”. He also does product design as a freelance consultant. Behr will be speaking at the Newton DMACC Auditorium as part of the United Way of Jasper County’s free speakers’ series, “Voices of Inspiration”. United Way of Jasper County Executive Director Jessica Lowe Vokes started the speaker series a couple of years ago, and says it’s free thanks to financial assistance from some local businesses and individuals.

“Dodd’s Trash and Recycling and Black Hills Energy are presenting sponsors. So they are the ones that make sure we have speakers come and that attendance is free. Then Pence Reese Funeral Home, Ryan’s Tire and Auto, Doug and Rhonda Wolf and Family, DMACC, and my husband and I even put in some money because I believe in it that strongly.”…
