On October 21, 2025, Madison Police responded to a disturbance at Festival Foods on East Washington Avenue. Store employees reported that a 35-year-old man, Kaleb T. Kelly, was making threats and acting aggressively.
Officers found Kelly in the Wine and Spirits section. He resisted arrest, and a Taser was not effective. During the struggle, Kelly pushed an officer to the ground. The officer briefly lost consciousness.
Police called for assistance. Kelly continued to resist and kicked two more officers. He was then taken into custody. The injured officer was treated at a hospital and is now recovering at home…
