LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Scattered thunderstorms are likely in the viewing area late today. Some storms may become severe, with hail, strong wind gusts, and flooding downpours possible.

Rain will gradually increase from west to east across the KCBD/FOX34 viewing area during the day. Most of this rain will be light. Then, late in the afternoon, scattered thunderstorms are expected to begin. Some thunderstorms may be strong to severe, especially this evening. Hail up to the size of quarters, wind gusts near 60 mph, and heavy rain may accompany some storms.
