The Plainfield Fire Protection District Board of Trustees announced on October 22, 2025, that former Fire Chief Jon Stratton directed district funds into a personal account before his resignation in 2023.
Stratton served the district for nearly 30 years and became chief in 2019. He sold vehicles donated to the district at auction and deposited $31,350 from the sales into a private trust account in his name.
