Gunfire broke out in the Carr Square neighborhood, resulting in a critical incident. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert around 1:00 a.m. last Saturday, which was later confirmed as a shooting in the 1600 block of Biddle Street. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle resting against a fire hydrant. Inside, a 25-year-old woman was in the driver’s seat with a gunshot wound and in critical condition.
The victim was identified as Raykel Thompson of St. Louis City. She was found alive but struggling to breathe and barely conscious. Emergency medical services responded quickly and transported her to the nearest hospital. Her condition was listed as critical and unstable at the time.
