Mead Police respond to serious crash on Highway 66

October 23, 2025 – On October 21, 2025, at approximately 8:53 a.m., Weld County Regional Communications received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 66 east of County Road 13.

Mead Police Officers responded to mile marker 44, where a van had rear-ended a two-door convertible that was presumed to be slowed or stopped due to traffic. The van is believed to have been traveling at a speed exceeding 60 mph at the time of impact.

Both occupants of the convertible sustained serious bodily injuries and were transported to area hospitals, where they remain in serious condition. The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending…
