Boston woman faces theft charge after $20,000 goes missing from Liberty VI

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A Massachusetts woman is facing theft charges after being accused of stealing $20,000.00 from the telecommunications company she worked for in St. Thomas, authorities said.

Khadijah R. Smith, 30, of Boston, was arrested and charged with embezzlement by employee, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The charge stems from an incident that was reported by Liberty V.I. to the VIPD;s Economic Crime Unit on February 27, 2025, according to police.
