Alabama is seeing declining student enrollment, according to new numbers from the State Department of Education (ALSDE).
More than 720,000 K-12 students were enrolled heading into 2025. Heading into next year, that number is down to 714,358 students. That means about 5,823 students are unaccounted for in school rolls.
