A landmark Rochester business is being sold and will close temporarily starting Oct. 30.
In an Oct. 21 post to the L&M Lanes Facebook page, owner Gary Stubbings Jr. wrote that buying the two-level bowling alley 14 years ago was the realization of a childhood dream.
“It was a real struggle at first, but things got a bit better,” he explained. “Then Covid hit and the whole world was in chaos. After some time, things started to return to some sort of normalcy, but not quite where it was before. Today, I find myself struggling to do everything that needs to be done at the Lanes and at home. My family is the most important thing to me and they have not had me around as much as they should have over the last decade and a half. I am also finding it difficult to keep up physically and mentally over the last few months.”…
