Federal prosecutors seek death penalty for man accused in deadly crime spree

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The feds are seeking the death penalty against a man accused of a deadly crime spree in New Mexico.

Federal agents say Zachary Babitz killed 83-year-old Gordon Wilson during a carjacking in Santa Fe in 2024.

He also reportedly robbed a bank in Albuquerque, and carjacked another person in Las Cruces. That’s where police ultimately arrested him…
