Ryan Day’s wife wanted to leave Columbus after Ohio State lost to Michigan in 2024

The Ohio State football team lost to Michigan for a fourth-straight time last season. It was perhaps the worst loss of the Ryan Day era, considering it was a home game against the worst Michigan team since 2020. That loss seemed to signal that the Buckeyes were going to lose in the first round of the College Football Playoffs.

That loss got fans to finally rally around the idea of firing Day. Up to that point, he hadn’t won a national championship and hadn’t won a Big Ten championship since 2020. Things started get very bad around the Day household, and his family was starting to feel that burden.

In Buckeye Brotherhood, a book written about the 2024 national championship season by Bill Rabinowitz, it was revealed just how much Nina Day was affected by the loss. It got so bad that she started packing up the house, wanting to leave Columbus.
