Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama is asking for the public’s help in solving two separate unsolved homicide cases in Jefferson County.
The first case involves a shooting that occurred on Aug. 31, 2025, at 10:30 p.m. Tarrant police responded to a gunshot victim in the 1400 block of Ford Ave. The victim was found with an apparent gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead. Crime Stoppers is urging anyone with information to come forward, offering anonymity and a cash reward of up to $5,000 for tips leading to an arrest.
In the second case, the Birmingham Police Department is seeking help in the homicide of Trudy Wilder Mustin. On Oct. 16, 2023, at approximately 6:55 p.m., West Precinct officers responded to a shooting in the 1500 block of Alemeda Ave. ShotSpotter technology registered multiple rounds fired in the 1100 block of 15th St. Southwest. Officers found the victim inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.
