CLEVELAND, Ohio — The estate of a 4-year-old boy whose malnourished body was found buried in the backyard of his Cleveland home will get a second chance to argue Catholic Charities’ negligence contributed to his death.
A Cuyahoga County Common Pleas jury last year found the agency negligent in hiring and supervising its employees and determined that the negligence was a partial cause in the 2017 death of Jordan Rodriguez.
Catholic Charities was ordered to pay the boy’s estate $960,000 – later reduced to $740,000 – in compensatory damages…
