Pulitzer Prize Winner Isabel Wilkerson to Speak at UT Knoxville’s Mossman Lecture on October 28

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Isabel Wilkerson will deliver the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s 10th annual Mossman Distinguished Lecture on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Union Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public. Reservations are recommended.

Wilkerson’s lecture is titled “15 Years of Warmth: A Personal Reflection on the Enduring Power of the Great Migration.” She will discuss her 2010 book, ‘The Warmth of Other Suns,’ which examines the migration of six million African Americans from the South between World War I and the 1970s. Wilkerson will address the ongoing relevance of this historical movement and its impact on contemporary America.
