New work zone speed cameras are slated for installation in Fayette County

The speed enforcement cameras are part of a wider effort to cut down on increasing injuries and deaths at road construction and maintenance sites along busy roads and highways.

“Last year, we saw over 1,200 crashes in a work zone, nearly 300 injuries, and seven fatalities,” Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Allen Blair said. “Our goal is to drive those numbers down to zero.”
