On October 12, 2025, a vehicle pursuit near the University of Texas at El Paso resulted in the deaths of two people. The incident began when a Border Patrol Agent saw several individuals, suspected of entering the country without authorization, get into a black Infiniti sedan. The car, driven by a U.S. citizen, left the area quickly as the agent tried to intervene. The agent activated emergency lights and called for assistance.
The agent reported that someone in the car threw a rock at his windshield. The El Paso Station Watch Commander instructed agents not to pursue the vehicle directly and to collect license plate information instead. The sedan made a U-turn on Paisano Drive. Another Border Patrol Agent and a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper joined the effort but soon lost sight of the car.
Shortly after, the sedan crashed into a light pole, rolled over, and landed on its roof. Emergency responders arrived and found seven people in the vehicle: six non-citizens and the U.S. citizen driver. Two people were unresponsive at the scene…
